4 week class
Do you feel overwhelmed when looking at all of the words and symbols found in store-bought sewing patterns? Are you interested in sewing a garment from a pattern but don’t know where to begin? This class is for you! Learn strategies for how to select and purchase a sewing pattern. Gain insight into interpreting the fabric chart on the back, making sense of the pattern layouts, and all of the jargon in between. Determine how to adjust and cut the pattern to get a good fit. Throughout this four-session class, participants will work on (and possibly finish) a small project of their choosing. Good selections include basic skirts, a simple blouse, or a vest. Trousers, jackets, fitted dresses, and high-stretch knits are beyond the scope of this class. Open to beginners. Please bring a sewing machine, in good working order, to the second through final classes.
