Join us for a special Craft Night with The Snips to celebrate the meaning and power of flowers. From the myth of Persephone emerging from the underworld each spring as flowers start to bloom to the story of Thumbelina who was born in a garden, flowers appear symbolically in folk tales from many different cultures and time periods. Explore the significance of flowers by embroidering a range of seasonal blooms onto a piece of cotton fabric or a garment from home. Learn basic embroidery stitches to render flowers with different colors, textures, and shapes. All materials for this Craft Night are provided, including an embroidery hoop, 6” cotton fabric base, embroidery needles, and embroidery floss. Participants are invited to bring a personal item from home to embroider on if they’d like. All levels welcome.
