Kris Livingston
Are you looking for a creative way to use up extra fabric in your stash or put your new Textile Center Garage Sale finds to work? Do you enjoy having beautiful catch-all vessels to use in your home or give as gifts? This class is for you! Learn how to create a colorful coiled bowl from 2 1/2-in strips of fabric and the Bali Bowls pattern from Aunties Two. Using extra fabric and a clothesline rope, learn to shape a 3-dimensional bowl on your sewing machine. Gain insight into how to create a variety of different bowl sizes and ideas for combining colors and finishing the rim of your bowls. The pattern describes two methods of making bowls and gives three sizes. Students will have time to create one bowl during the class using the clothesline method; the instructor will demo an alternative technique using double-sided adhesive batting for students to experiment with at home. Open to students who have basic sewing skills and are confident using their sewing machines.
