Cara Corey
It’s time for hygge! Create a dreamy, thick knit blanket out of merino wool roving–perfect for cozying up by a fire or with a good book. Learn a “table knitting” technique to form stitches with your hands rather than using knitting needles. Explore how to graft ends together with needle felting techniques and adjust the pattern to make bigger blankets or different dimensions. Discuss tips for caring for the wool, using felting to prevent excess fuzzing, sourcing wool roving, and ordering it by the pound.
Materials fee of $90, payable to the instructor at the start of class, includes tools, printed instructions, and enough wool roving to make (and complete in class!) a blanket approximately 30″ x 50″ in size with a lot of stretch.
Register by October 25 in order to choose from 10 different colors of wool for your blanket (following registration, email instructor Cara Corey directly with your color choice: caracorey@gmail.com); participants who register after October 25 will receive undyed cream-colored roving. Open to beginners–no knitting experience required!
