Learn to sew a Bog Coat based on an ancient woven garment found in a bog in Denmark. This pattern-less coat is low waste, environmentally friendly, and has so many possibilities! It is easy to make with 1 ½ yards of 54” wide fabric so bring the good stuff! The coat is basically one piece of fabric with cuffs and a collar. To help inspire students, Ella will be bringing in several coats for students to try on and inspect for design details so you get yours just right. Great for hand woven fabrics, hand painted or dyed pieces you have had trouble cutting, new large digital prints or that great throw blanket you got on a trip. It is a one size fits most pattern and works best with fabrics that drape well: wool, linen, silk and some blends.

Materials fee $10 – $25, payable to instructor – depending on how much of the instructor’s materials you use.
