A Common Thread, our annual member exhibition, returns for its 23rd year! Always a favorite, this exhibition showcases a fabulous array of fiber art created by Textile Center’s innovative members. This year’s exhibition dates are August 1 – October 14, 2023.

Each year, over a hundred artworks adorn the walls of Textile Center’s galleries in an exhibition that is as diverse in technique as it is prolific in scope. Techniques include stitching, quilting, knitting, crochet, sewing, weaving, dyeing, felting, needlework, hand construction, polymer clay, lacemaking, basketry, beading, sculpture, mixed media, and more. Your $25 entry fee supports the costs of the exhibition.

IMPORTANT DATES:

    • Entry Open Date:  9:00 am, Friday, May 12, 2023
    • Entry Deadline:  5:00 pm, Monday, July 10, 2023
    • Entry Fee: $25 for one entry; Work cannot have been shown at Textile Center before. Must be made 2021 – 2023 (keep it fresh!).  Membership must be current as of opening date of the exhibition, August 1, 2023.
    • Artwork Delivery Time and Dates: 
      • Thursday, July 20, 1 – 3 pm
      • Friday, July 21, 11 am – 3 pm
      • Saturday, July 22, 11 am – 3pm
    • Exhibition Run: Tuesday, August 1 – Saturday, October 14, 2023
    • Art Work Pick-up:  Tuesday – Thursday, October 17 – 19, 2023, 10 am – 4 pm; Work requiring return shipment will be sent back in late November.
    • Loan Period: July 20 – October 21, 2023
    • Exhibition Opens:  Tuesday, August 1, 2023
    • Public Reception for the Artists: Tuesday, August 8, 2023, 5 – 7 pm at Textile Center.

  • The application includes a link to the Art Loan Agreement. The submission of your entry assumes your agreement to these terms. Please read them.
