Day Excursion to Moorhead for Quilt National '15

Day Excursion to Moorhead for Quilt National ’15

Thursday, August 17, 2017

All of us who work in the realm of quilts want them to be accepted as art. This is the reason for the existence of Quilt National to prove to the larger world out there that quilting is an art form on a level with traditional fine art mediums,” – Judy Schwender, juror, Quilt National ‘15.

Join Textile Center for a day excursion on to Hjemkomst* Center, at the Historical and Cultural Society of Clay County in Moorhead, Minnesota

On view: Quilt National ’15, the 19th biennial juried exhibition of innovative art quilts produced by Barn Art in Athens, Ohio. The traveling exhibit contains an eclectic collection of never-before exhibited works from talented fiber artists representing 33 states and eight foreign countries. The exhibition’s stop in Moorhead is co-sponsored by MN Quilters.

In Moorhead, our group will have admission to the Quilt National ’15 exhibit and the Hjemkomst Center, with a guided tour and a visit with the exhibit curator. Also, at the City of Moorhead’s Hjemkomst Center are the Hjemkomst Viking Ship and the Hopperstad Stave Church replica.
