Cochineal, a small but important bug, is responsible for subtle to strong reds in the world of natural dyes. Learn how to prepare the cochineal bug for dyeing and then explore the wonderful techniques of eco printing by combining tannin and a mordant/modifier on silk scarves. See how your shades vary from reds to pinks, purples to greys. In addition, use leaves from the area and eucalyptus plants for adding eco prints to your four beautiful scarves. Materials fee $50 payable to the instructor. Download supply list.
